Statement from the artist: "Prickly Pear cactus, or Nopal, is a helpful and protective plant friend. In the world of herbalism it is considered to have balancing and nourishing properties. It can thrive on poor soil and very little water. To me this plant seems like a safe home. I love that the paddles can be a variety of soft greens as well as lavender. This plant (as is true of many plants) seems to come more alive in the indirect light of early morning or evening. The colors become more subtly varied and beautiful."
