This summer I explored the folly of taking time off ‘just to create’.  I went hiking, copiously cleaned and rearranged my house, read an entire sci-fi trilogy and then watched the Netflix series, made many elaborate meals, went to bed early and slept late. The result was a tumultuous entry back into the working world in August when I found myself with no income and having created no art.  ‘August’ is my world at that time, the clock ticking as I thought, the interiors, the sounds, the rotations.  It appears in the form of crudely abstract block prints, a quilt I actually did find the time to finish, and a soundscape that accompanied the boredom/freedom of giving myself this time.
