The solitary witch of fable and folklore has long been feared, ostracized, and made a scapegoat for a patriarchal society. Now we bring together female artists to celebrate her, and the stories she comes from, in a curated show of multi-media art.
The pieces in this show speak of female magic and strength, fortune-telling, alchemy, folklore, and old wives tales. Fashions of a fairytale witch as a feminist icon. Scenes of eldritch empowerment. Reclaimed images of a crone. The archetype inside us all.
