Summer Kathryn White, The Herald
Acrylic on Wood
18 X 24"
Statement from the artist:
In mythic tales frogs typically represent bringers of change and initiation, often prompted by deeply subconscious material and instinct. Being amphibious, frogs are regarded as messengers between worlds. They occupy the water and the land, helping bridge the psychological with the physical.
The figure in this piece embraces The Herald with openness and sensuality, engaging in a sort of courtship with the wild boon of letting unconscious, instinctual, feral phenomenon influence the structure of reality. There is endless potential available with this integration, much like an entire language is possible with the letters of the alphabet.
This piece is a part of the Superstitions Virtual Group Show. All pieces will be shipped directly from the artists, and we will notify you once they have shipped.
